Counselling and Psychotherapy
The Person Centre is an organisation focused on people. It brings together professionals experienced in psychotherapy, behaviour change and education.
Missing Link ServicesIn 2023 The Person Centre is proposing that court ordered assessments be introduced as a condition of selected Apprehended Violence Orders (AVOs), enabling a qualified counsellor to assess risks and refer AVO defendants to appropriate treatment or services with a view to reducing family violence, AVO contravention, criminalisation, incarceration, family breakdown, and socioeconomic distress.
Group MindfulnessThe Person Centre has initiated Group Mindfulness, a supervision model for all people in which every participant considered equal.
Domestic and Family ViolenceIn early 2016, after submitting a proposal to the NSW Premier's office, The Person Centre presented our Early Domestic Violence Intervention, Assessment and Treatment (EDVIAT) model to the office of the NSW Minister for Women.
Subsequently, elements of a voluntary early intervention family violence program have been rolled out at selected court locations in NSW, and a Remand DV program has been funded in NSW prisons.
